Donald Trump and Whoopi Goldberg feud over Ebola comments

On August 1, Trump protested via Twitter about two American Ebola patients returning to the United States. Whoopi Goldberg responded on her show that while Trump is her friend, "that was a stupid comment. Do your homework Donald. Just do your homework."
After her heart attack in 2012, Rosie O'Donnell received support from an unlikely source: Donald Trump. The two engaged in a pretty high-profile feud in the past, with her calling him a "snake-oil salesman" and Trump retorting that she was a "loser.
Yeah, we couldn't believe it either. MC Hammer reportedly took offense to Jay-Z guest-rapping in a Kanye West song ("So Appalled") that "Hammer went broke so you know I'm more focused/I lost 30 mill so I spent another 30/Cuz unlike Hammer 30 mill can't hurt me." Hammer took it to where all celebs take their beefs now -- Twitter -- and released a diss track, "Better Run Run.

British man gets life sentence for killing 2-year-old Amina Agboola

20-year Dean Harris has been sentenced to life in prison by Cambridge Crown Court, England, for killing Amina Agboola, the 2-year-old daughter of a Nigerian man, Reuben Agboola, in November 2013.
Harris confessed to killing Amina after becoming frustrated at her because she was soiling herself.
Harris reportedly kicked her so hard that she was thrown six feet across the room and ruptured her liver. The force of the blow tore her liver in two. Paramedics said they found her body lying like a rag doll.
Amina Agboola
Harris started dating Sarah Racqueman, the late toddler’s mother after she split up with her father, Reuben, who hardly saw his daughter only to hear from Police officers, a year later that Amina had been killed.
Harris admitted to manslaughter but was convicted of the child’s murder, and he is to spend a minimum of 17 years in prison.
Meanwhile Reuben Agboola said is still stricken with grief. “I am pleased with the sentence Dean Harris has received today. However the grief feels like it has no end. I think about Amina constantly. I still cry everyday.”
Reuben Agboola
“I go through the motions of living but inside I am somewhere else thinking about my daughter all the time. No one understands the pain except those people who are experiencing it. My heart reaches out to every parent on earth who is suffering the loss of a child.”
Reuben claims Sarah had been warned by social workers of Harris’ furious ways. Sarah Racqueman, who had been dating Harris for just five months, was cleared by a Jury in June for causing or allowing the death.

9 questions about this new Ebola drug

Two American missionary workers infected with the deadly Ebola virus were given an experimental drug that seems to have saved their lives.
Dr. Kent Brantly was given the medication, ZMapp, shortly after telling his doctors he thought he would die, according to a source familiar with his case. Within an hour, doctors say his symptoms -- labored breathing and a widespread rash -- dramatically improved. Nancy Writebol, another missionary working with Samaritan's Purse, received two doses of the medication and has also shown significant improvement, sources say.
As there is no proven treatment and no vaccine for Ebola, this experimental drug is raising lots of questions
1. Who makes the drug
The drug was developed by the biotech firm Mapp Biopharmaceutical Inc., which is based in San Diego. The company was founded in 2003 "to develop novel pharmaceuticals for the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases, focusing on unmet needs in global health and biodefense," according to its website.
Mapp Biopharmaceutical has been working with the National Institutes of Health and the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, an arm of the military responsible for countering weapons of mass destruction, to develop an Ebola treatment for several years.
2. Are there other experimental Ebola drugs out there?
Yes. In March, the NIH awarded a five-year, $28 million grant to establish a collaboration between researchers from 15 institutions who were working to fight Ebola.
"A whole menu of antibodies have been identified as potentially therapeutic, and researchers are eager to figure out which combinations are most effective and why," a news release about the grant said.
Tekmira, a Vancouver-based company that has a $140 million contract with the U.S. Department of Defense to develop an Ebola drug, began Phase 1 trials with its drug in January. But the FDA recently halted the trial, asking for more information
At least one potential Ebola vaccine has been tested in healthy human volunteers, according to Thomas Geisbert, a leading researcher at the University of Texas Medical Branch. And last week, the NIH announced a safety trial of another Ebola vaccine will start as early as September.
3. How does ZMapp work?
Antibodies are proteins used by the immune system to mark and destroy foreign, or harmful, cells. A monoclonal antibody is similar, except it's engineered in a lab so it will attach to specific parts of a dangerous cell, according to the Mayo Clinic, mimicking your immune system's natural response. The President would read this. Advice us on how to spend the recovered loot from Abacha.

General Sani Abacha Nigerian Head Of State 1993-1998
The US Justice department on Thursday August the 7th said that money stolen during Abacha's reign and stashed in banks around the world will be returned to the Nigerian Government.
The Assistant Attoney General Lesile Cardwell said that the former General rather than serve his country used his public office in Nigeria to loot millions of Dollars thereby engaging in wicked act of 'Kleptocracy'.
Considering public outcry and the current state of the Nigerian health sector. What in your opinion should the loot recovered from the Abacha's be spent on?
Some are suggesting that the American Government should use the Abacha loot to buy the Ebola and HIV drugs to support victims and  PEPFAR patients. PEPFAR is a foreign donor that has disbursed more than 3.4 million Dollars (544 Billion Naira) to support HIV/AIDS patients.
Nigeria recorded its first Ebola Virus disease fatality on Tuesday when one of the nurses who was one of the primary contacts of the American-Liberian, Patrick Sawyer, passed on. The doctor who treated Sawyer, who died in the country after flying into Lagos, is now ill with Ebola and six other primary contacts are currently ill with the disease in a Lagos hospital where they are quarantined.

PDP National Secretary quits party.

Former governor of Osun state Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola writes President Goodluck Ebere Jonathan GCFR as he offers to quit the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)

“Your Excellency, you are very conversant of all efforts made by me and very importantly, by respected leaders of the party to get this matter resolved and truly reconcile all aggrieved parties.
“I, however, learnt that you were not sure of my support for you, given my closeness to former President Olusegun Obasanjo hence the decision to disallow me from returning to my legally recognized position as the National secretary of the PDP.
“I have met you on several occasions on this matter to pledge my loyalty. At my last meeting with you, which was at the instance of the party’s National chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, you requested that I be part of the ongoing Osun State governorship campaigns. Mr. President would remember that I stated that the minimum the party leadership could do to get me to campaign was to instruct the Ogun State chapter of the party to withdraw its appeal at the Supreme Court; or alternatively, obey the Appeal Court order, and allow me to resume duty, the same way the party obeyed the faulty Federal High Court verdict that ousted me.
“To the foregoing, I wish to state that I was promised some positive response which never came, up till this moment. The Chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees, Chief Tony Anenih CFR, has also on several occasions, after discussing me, met with Your Excellency on this matter assuring you of my loyalty to you and to the cause of the party.
“I am also aware that the Senate President, Senator David Mark, GCON, has similarly met with you and made a case for my return to office. Senator Mark went to the extent of asking you to hold him responsible for all actions I might take as National Secretary.
“Mr. President, allow me to state with emphasis that what joins Senator Mark and my humble-self is more than politics.  The military family that binds us does not know double-dealing or disloyalty. A part of our training, we keep our words, hence we are called ‘Gentlemen Officers’. That precisely was why the Senate President could most frontally vouch for me.
“Your Excellency, allow me to also recall that on three occasions, Senator Mark informed that I had agreed to submit to you a pre-signed resignation letter, if that would allay all fears of insincerity; and all, in a bid to ensure that the injustice of my illegal removal from office is redressed.
“I wish to respectfully state that I do not go back on my words, just like I don’t abandon my friends, associates and leaders, no matter how hard the situation might be.
“That explains why as a State Governor, I remained very loyal to my boss, former President Ibrahim Babangida, GCFR, even when he had some issues with the government of former President  Olusegun Obasanjo, I wish to respectfully recall very respectfully, that Chief Obasanjo never made any attempt to move against me on account of these differences.
“The same spirit today drives me as I maintain my loyalty to former President Obasanjo, who may, or who may not have any relationship with your government. It was that same spirit that made me insist on your approval of my candidature, in your capacity as national leader of the party and president, before I agreed with my brother-governors’ request in 2012, to contest for the position of PDP National Secretary. I should like to state that I am not a fair-weather fellow. To my friends, the spirit is very similar to marital vow”.
The former governor expressed regrets that President Jonathan refused to listen to entreaties by party leaders on his behalf.
He added: “Mr. President, I wish to observe that with all these efforts by me and other credible leaders of our party, it appears clearly to me that you are not totally convinced that I am who I have always been in my journey through life.
“I have, therefore, come to the conclusion that it is this mindset that is at the root of my challenges in PDP. It seems to me that I am not wanted by the national leader of the party; and I know that.
“Therefore, I will certainly not be doing myself justice and good, despite everything, if I don’t think seriously about my political journey and take a firm decision.
“Mr. President, I may at this point, need to look beyond the party and take my destiny in my hands. I sincerely hope that this will solve the problem.
“Conclusively, Your Excellency, if I am doing the above and take further steps without telling you, I would be negating the pledge of loyalty which I had earlier made to you; hence this correspondence to Mr. President”.
